Tiktoker Finds Sizeable No-Tip DoorDash Order Just Left On Sidewalk

Wasting food is a crime

A TikToker posted a video that starts with a DoorDash order sitting on the sidewalk like it was forgotten, not delivered. No one is chasing the driver, no one is grabbing it fast, it’s just there, and you can practically hear the comment section sharpening its opinions.

The clip shows what looks like a sizeable meal left out with no tip, and suddenly the whole thing turns into a weird little morality test. People react fast, some praising the restaurant for not tossing the food, others wondering if it’s going to end up in the trash anyway, and Austin even chimes in with a hope that someone who needs it will spot it first.

Because when the food waste question meets a no-tip delivery, the sidewalk becomes the drama stage.

That sidewalk drop-off is what set everyone off, especially once viewers noticed the order was left with no tip.

Different people on the platform responded in various ways. Given that food waste is such a sensitive subject in today's culture, some individuals commended the restaurant for not simply tossing the food away.

In response, Austin said that although he hadn't seen many homeless individuals in his neighborhood, he hoped that someone in need of the food would find it.

Austin’s comment about not seeing many homeless people nearby made people zoom in on the real-world “who finds it first” problem.

This is the same kind of petty fairness fight as refusing to split a dinner bill evenly after only getting an appetizer.

The debate got extra heated when commenters pointed out that at least the food wasn’t thrown away, even if it was left out to chance.

2.6% of all orders aren't picked up by delivery drivers.

Then the DoorDash tip talk kicked in, with people reminding everyone that low-tipped orders get picked up last, not first.

DoorDash drivers rely on tips as a significant part of their income, and a good tip can make a big difference for them.

It is generally recommended to tip at least 20% of the total cost of the order, although some people may choose to tip more or less depending on the quality of the service they received. If you are unhappy with the service you received, you can always speak to DoorDash customer service to report any issues you had.

Another reason to tip well is that orders with poor tips get picked up last. Drivers always choose the orders with the best tips.

Nobody wants to work for free, but nobody wants to watch food go to waste either.
