TikToker Sparks Online Debate After Exposing He's Being Forced To Dump Donuts That Were Not Sold

"Do my job really got me wasting 66 donuts, and if I bite one, I'm gonna get fired."

A TikToker just tried to clock in, do his job, and survive a donut disaster, and somehow the internet turned it into a full-on argument about food waste. In a clip posted by @iknowadonis, he claims he was forced to dump 66 donuts that, in his words, “were not sold,” and the stakes felt painfully real: if he so much as bites one, he’s risking getting fired.

Viewers were not chill. The video racked up millions of views and thousands of comments, with people furious that “perfectly good food” apparently ends up in the trash instead of going to someone who needs it. Others chimed in that some workplaces ban employees from eating leftovers after closing, while some managers quietly let staff take what they can before the rest gets discarded.

And once you see that many donuts headed for the bin, it’s hard not to ask why the rules are so strict.

“Do my job really got me wasting 66 donuts, and if I bite one, I'm gonna get fired,” @iknowadonis captioned in the TikTok video. This particular post had the viewers fired up since @iknowadonis usually posts clips of him while working, but this one really caught the attention of many.

The video garnered up to 5 million views and over 5 thousand comments. Most commenters were really upset at the idea of throwing away perfectly good food.

There were also commenters sharing that some workplaces do not allow their employees to eat any food left after store hours; it is meant to be thrown away, as some stores do. Though not all follow this kind of protocol, some managers allow their employees to take some of the leftovers (they aren’t really leftovers) before discarding the rest.

Some even try to sneak out the food; they just make sure not to get caught in the act, or else…

Just some hacks from Cunty Jesus so that the donuts would not go to waste. Unlimited donuts for you too!

Still, the biggest question is why management allows perfectly good food to go to waste when starving people could make use of it. Someone should perhaps make a law about this…

If this amount of leftover food were just properly handled, it could have saved many lives, really. Just saying.

Now that’s just a very sad point of view. When did being hungry become an animal?

Now we’re just adding more food waste instead of giving it to starving people. Sad.

It also matches AITA for giving friends leftover food without permission.

Here's the video:

The comments exploded right after @iknowadonis dropped the “66 donuts” line, because everyone could picture the box going straight to the trash.

Then people started quoting workplace rules, saying employees are told not to touch unsold food after store hours, like @iknowadonis was just following a script.

Even the “they sneak out the food” replies showed how messy it gets when managers allow leftovers sometimes and punish them other times, depending on the shift.

By the time @iknowadonis’ “if I bite one, I’m gonna get fired” warning sat in everyone’s head, the donut debate stopped being funny and started feeling personal.

Seriously, the world might not be such a starving place if we only had more access to address this food waste problem. But thankfully, there are still kind-hearted people who try their best to help those in need in America and tackle the food waste issue.

Nobody wants to watch 66 donuts get dumped while everyone argues about who’s allowed to save them.
