This Online Group Aims to Expose the Ridiculousness of the Housing Market and Greedy Landlords, and Here Are 30 of the Best Posts
Some landlords deserve to be shamed.
Some people collect rent like it’s a hobby, and then act shocked when tenants notice the receipts. This online group exists for that exact moment, the one where a “normal” monthly charge turns into a full-blown comedy of greed, pettiness, and audacity.
The posts are brutally specific, from $700 “non-refundable” cat rent add-ons to landlords saying repairs are optional until the tenant is forced to escalate. You’ve got the “Hope they’re charging pet and kid insurance too” jokes, the “That’s the normal” dismissal, and the mold-poisoning situation in the UK where complaints apparently got filed somewhere between “ignored” and “never happened.”
It’s basically a greatest-hits playlist of why the housing market feels rigged, one “new bathroom upgrade” at a time.

The whole vibe kicks off with posts like the $700 fee for two cats, plus the “that’s the normal” line that somehow makes it worse.
Then it spirals into maintenance games, like the “renovations complete” landlord wondering if everyone should pay $100 extra, after “general maintenance.”
That’s when the group drags in the darker stuff, like the UK kid who died from mold poisoning after years of complaints went unheeded.
And just to cap it off, the eviction-and-audacity energy shows up again, like the landlord who gave tenants 24 hours to pay before eviction, then called renters “peasantry.”
It is hard to find a decent and affordable place to rent these days. The housing market is severely impacted by the popularity of Airbnb, where many homeowners decide to evict tenants and rent their properties by the night.
This is so unfair and hard to understand. Namely, these accommodations are now much pricier than hotels. Why do people even use them?
Leave your comments, and let's talk about it!
Nobody wants to live through a landlord’s “normal” pricing scheme.
When a landlord demanded rent after their tenant lost their job, the backlash was intense, read whether it’s unfair to ask a tenant to pay rent after losing their job.
