30 People Share Their Former Employers’ Little Secrets
Big companies are all about honesty, right?
Big companies work really hard to create and maintain their public image, and that image is perfect.
But, of course, it didn’t come easy; it’s the result of months and years of marketing and psychological research, hard work, and, let’s be honest, blatant lies.
We can’t blame them—if they were telling the truth, would we buy from them or use their services? Of course, we would prefer if they actually practiced what they preached, but unfortunately, it would be naive to expect that.
Many businesses claim that their goods are fair-trade, eco-friendly, homegrown, domestically built, etc. But, unfortunately, most of the time, it is not true.
To be honest, many times, these lies are not that significant and don’t really affect the overall experience. But how can we know? Well, we can ask people with insider information—former employees.
The popular Twitter account UberFacts asked its 13.6M followers, “What company secrets can you reveal now that you don’t work for the company anymore?”
The answers that came in were eye-opening, to say the least. We have selected 30 of the most interesting ones, and they might come in handy for you the next time you eat out or stay in a hotel.

Well, we’ve certainly learned a lot. Next time we eat out or stay in a hotel, we will know what to look out for.
Some of these are just small lies that don’t really hurt anyone, like looking in the back. If it’s not in the system, it’s not in the store—how hard is it to understand?
But other things, like pretending to recycle and then dumping items into dumpsters, are simply awful. On the bright side, we’ve also learned how to save money on TVs and diamonds.
Of course, you can also save money by light shoplifting in Target stores, but we can’t really advise you to do that. In that case, you would be dishonest like some companies on the list.
And you wouldn’t want that, would you?
