30+ Scam Messages That Are Too Funny And Pathetic To Not Share
At least they tried, if you count the bare minimum of effort as "trying."
It's no secret that scammers are rampant literally everywhere nowadays. With the existence of social media and other platforms on the Internet, more and more people seem to be manipulating and scamming random individuals out of their money, if not their personal information.
That's why data security is so important today; you never know where your phone number might end up, and you only notice it when you receive a funny text message from a stranger. Losing your phone number would be the least of your concerns if your data is stolen.
Now that most of the world's transactions have shifted online, it's pretty easy for scammers to retrieve personal information about us. This is especially true if we aren't careful with the things we click on our phones or computers.
When this happens, we tend to receive spammy emails and text messages. While they may be annoying most of the time, some messages are so hilariously obvious that they are scams that people just decide to have fun with them. Even with the recent innovations and updates in technology, scammers still exist in various forms, targeting innocent people (particularly the elderly) through phone calls, text messages, emails, and even on dating applications.
There is even a subreddit called Scams where over 330k members share moments when they caught someone trying to pathetically and lazily scam people into giving them money or simply fooling them. Check out some of the best posts in the group below!
