James Denton’s Next TV Stop Is a Reba Reunion on Happy’s Place

James Denton is heading back to network TV, and the role comes with a familiar face. The Good Witch alum will guest star on Happy’s Place, putting him back on screen with Reba McEntire years after their Reba pairing.

A familiar sitcom connection is back on screen

Denton, who starred on Hallmark’s Good Witch for seven seasons, is set to appear in season 3 of NBC’s Happy’s Place. The new season premieres Friday, October 23, 2026, on NBC, and will be available the next day on Peacock.

The casting turns his latest stop into a reunion with McEntire. Denton previously appeared in two episodes of Reba as her love interest, Dr. Jack Morgan, a detail fans quickly latched onto after the announcement. In the comments, viewers called it a “Reba/Dr. Morgan reunion” and celebrated seeing McEntire and Denton sharing the screen again.

The season 3 news was promoted in an Instagram video posted with the caption: “Your favorite bar is back in business! A new season of #HappysPlace premieres October 23 on NBC and next day on Peacock.”

Who Denton plays, and what else is next

For Happy’s Place, Denton will play JB, described as “a handsome stranger.” The character catches the attention of both Bobbie, played by McEntire, and Gabby, played by Melissa Peterman. JB ultimately chooses to pursue Bobbie, a development that complicates her on-and-off relationship with Emmett, played by Rex Linn.

The NBC guest spot is not Denton’s only upcoming project. He is also returning to Hallmark for the holiday movie A Season of Promises. That film premieres Sunday, November 8, 2026, and is part of the network’s 2026 Countdown to Christmas lineup.

For viewers who know Denton from Good Witch, the immediate change is clear: he is moving into a guest role on Happy’s Place when season 3 arrives October 23. For fans of Reba, the bigger hook may be the chance to see Denton and McEntire reunite in a new comedy setup.
