Guy Tells Off Fiancé For Ruining His Twitch Streaming "Career" By Not Buying Him A Gaming Laptop After He Told Her To "Get A Real Job"

It seems like a 13-year-old got trapped in a 37-year-old's body.

A Twitch dream, a gaming laptop, and one very annoyed fiancé are at the center of this Reddit mess. What started as a fight over money quickly turned into a bigger argument about jobs, support, and who is actually carrying the relationship. Months later, he still had no Twitch account, while she was covering their expenses with her online business, and then he asked her to buy him a gaming laptop anyway.

That is where the real blowup began, and his response did not help his case one bit. Read on.

She and her fiancé have been living together for 6 months—with the man deciding to ditch his job just a month after moving in because he wanted to try having a Twitch streaming career. This is where the whole deal about being a supportive partner enters the picture—but yes, like all of us, OP found something rather odd about that.

And well, his plans for building a Twitch channel didn't really happen because it's been 7 months and he still hasn't even made an account. Despite that fact, he says he still needs time—somehow oblivious to the fact that his partner has been sustaining them alone for months now using her online business.

My fiancé and I have been living together for 6 months. He quit his job a month after we moved in because he wanted to pursue Twitch streaming full time.

He has not made a Twitch account yet. He says he needs time to figure out his content and get the right setup.

But then, he wants to buy a house, and being the practical woman that OP is, she proceeded to tell him the consequences of doing so. She also points out that he doesn't have a job yet—which he countered by saying if only OP had a real job, then they wouldn't even be having problems with money matters. Yeah, we know.

That is where the argument really started to spiral.

Now he's been demanding a gaming laptop for his "career," and OP pettily told him that her fake job doesn't cover that. The fiancé threw a fit and flat out told her she's selfish and is out to ruin his career.

Seven months is a long time to wait for a Twitch account that still does not exist.

It takes a few minutes to create a Twitch account—and for some reason, he couldn't do that within those seven months?

By the end of it, the relationship looked a lot shakier than a gaming setup on a wobbly desk.

There's no question about being unconditionally supportive of your partner regarding the things that matter most to them, but if it's already affecting your lifestyle and they're turning out to be lazy, then that's the time you need to put your foot down. We truly hope that this man comes to his senses-or OP should just flat out leave him for his slobbishness!

The situation described in the article highlights the importance of mutual support in relationships, particularly when it comes to personal aspirations like a gaming career. The tension arises when one partner, in this case the fiancé, dismisses the other's passion for Twitch streaming by suggesting he should seek a "real job." This not only undermines his dreams but also raises questions about their communication dynamics and respect for each other’s ambitions.

As illustrated, healthy relationships thrive on understanding and encouragement. When one partner fails to acknowledge the other's pursuits, it can lead to significant rifts. The fallout from this incident serves as a reminder that both partners must actively engage in fostering a supportive environment. By addressing conflicts with empathy and openness, couples can turn misunderstandings into opportunities for deeper connection and growth.
