Pitbull's New Album Starts With a Kiss Surprise: 'Reach for the Stars' Reworks 'Rock and Roll All Nite'
Pitbull has released 'Reach for the Stars,' a new Kiss-based opener for his 13th album PITCOIN, as Kiss lines up more releases and Vegas shows.
Pitbull's latest album starts with an unexpected crossover. Its opening track, 'Reach for the Stars,' is built on Kiss's 'Rock and Roll All Nite' and arrives as the band has more releases and live dates on the calendar.
Pitbull has released a new song called 'Reach for the Stars,' and the twist is right there in the foundation. The track rides on Kiss's 'Rock and Roll All Nite,' with Pitbull delivering a pair of verses over the familiar riffs while Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and the band take over for the heavy pre-chorus and the singalong hook.
He makes the team-up clear from the start, announcing that he is on a classic with Kiss and brushing off anyone who dislikes it with a pointed line. The accompanying lyric video, in the clip below, uses footage of a bachelorette party instead of the makeup, pyrotechnics and blood-spitting often associated with a Kiss show.
'Reach for the Stars' is the first song on PITCOIN, Pitbull's newly released 13th studio album. It is not his only recent meeting point with classic rock, either. His 2024 track 'Now or Never' was built around Bon Jovi's 'It's My Life.'
The new album also features Lil Jon, Enrique Iglesias, Akon and Jason Derulo. On close listen, the Kiss portion of 'Reach for the Stars' appears to draw from the re-recorded version of 'Rock and Roll All Nite' heard on Kiss Klassics, the bonus disc that came with 2009's Sonic Boom.
The collaboration lands during an active period for Kiss. In August, the band gave an official release to the long-bootlegged live album Kiss Destroys Anaheim '76. A 50th anniversary box set edition of Rock and Roll Over is due in November.
That month, the current Kiss lineup of Simmons, Stanley, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer is scheduled to reunite for two unmasked shows as part of Kiss Kruise: Landlocked in Vegas '26. The weekend festival will take place at Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas and will also include an all-star tribute to original guitarist Ace Frehley, who died in 2025.
