Man Comes Up With An Epic Plot For A "Home Alone" Sequel, And 73K Twitter Users Are On Board
It's time for "a true Home Alone 3."
Some movie ideas are so wild they instantly take on a life of their own, and this one has a very specific kind of holiday nostalgia attached to it. A Twitter user recently pitched a sequel concept for Home Alone that imagines Kevin McCallister all grown up, and the internet could not get enough.
The pitch keeps the original characters in play 30 years later, with Kevin, his family, and the Wet Bandits all pulled back into the same chaotic orbit. It is equal parts funny, unhinged, and weirdly convincing, which is probably why so many people started sharing it.
Now the whole thing is making the rounds again, and the reactions are almost as entertaining as the sequel idea itself.
The plot begins 30 years after the first film, and Kevin McCallister is now 40 years old.

Kevin's mother is now a widow, so Kevin and his husband travel back to Chicago to help her pack up the family home and spend one last Christmas there.

Marv and Harry have now served their time and are out for revenge on Kevin.
So, they decide to kidnap his mom.
Of course, Kevin takes it upon himself to rescue his mother and bring her home safely.
A few details make the whole pitch even more chaotic.
Kevin’s family-home chaos hits a similar nerve to the siblings fight over selling their family home.
Kevin and his husband find Kate and flee back to the McCallister house.
Kevin reveals the reason he knew exactly how to outsmart the Sticky Bandits.
And, in a strange twist, Kate reveals that she had an orgy with the polka band that she hitched a ride with in the first movie. Oh my!
As the credits roll, Lana Del Rey's cover of "Somewhere In My Memory" plays. Interesting!
