Jack Skellington is getting fan mail again, and this Halloween kids can hear back from him. A California parks department is running its annual letter-writing program, with replies sent out to children who mail in a note the right way before the deadline.
Tulare Parks and Recreation in California is once again inviting kids to send letters to Jack Skellington, with a return note mailed back in response. The program is free to take part in, but families do need to cover postage and include a self-addressed stamped envelope so the reply can be sent.
That requirement is the key detail for anyone hoping to get an answer. Each letter must include a second envelope with the child’s name and home address already written on it, plus a stamp. Without that, there is no way for the department to send Jack’s response back.
The deadline is Friday, Oct. 16. Families are encouraged to mail letters earlier rather than waiting until the cutoff, since the department has not given a timetable for how long replies take.
