She and her former fiancé called things off because their relationship was "pushed" due to the fact that he is a wealthy doctor. However, her mother always sang her former fiancé’s praises to her, and the OP’s present husband, named Scott, wasn’t left out.

In fact, he received more of the passive and nagging comments as the OP always compared him to her former fiancé, Martin. OP’s mom went on to send him texts about Martin’s achievements and what he was doing for his fiancée, but who knew that she couldn’t handle what she was dishing out?

It’s very simple: don’t dish out what you can’t take. Scott kept his cool and handled the situation very well, unlike some people would.
