Thoughtful Mom 'Chalks' A Sidewalk Letter To Her 'Karen' Neighbor Who Complained About Her Toddler's Drawings
These colorful chalk drawings are ruining my neighborhood! Woe is me!
Making colorful images on a sidewalk using chalk is one of the best childhood summer pastimes anyone could ever have. Chalk is a medium of choice for many young children because it's colorful and temporary.
Ashley Woodfolk and her toddler use chalk precisely for this reason. To the mother-and-child duo, their chalk drawings are nothing but harmless fun.
Ashley also mentioned that her toddler learned letters and numbers this way. The two used the shared courtyard in their New York apartment building as a canvas for their chalk fun.
While most residents didn't mind the chalk art, at least one resident was upset about the colorful, temporary drawings. This resident was so upset that they reported the chalk drawings to the building's co-op board.
Ashley received the complaint and planned her final chalk art dedicated to this special resident. Ashley's petty revenge was delivered in chalk form when she penned a well-written letter to the complaining resident.
The entire message was in chalk and was written in the shared courtyard for everyone to see. It was the best way to ensure that the 'Karen' knew exactly what she was taking away from a toddler.
Ashley shared her chalk art letter on her Twitter, and people are loving her graceful retaliation!
Below is Ashley's tweet

It's not surprising that the letter is so well written because Ashley is a published author!

People were understandably upset for Ashley and her toddler
Some wondered why the co-op even entertained such a ludicrous complaint. For non-New Yorkers, a co-op is a building where you don't purchase the apartment itself; instead, you buy shares from a corporation that owns the building, and your shares allow you to live in an apartment in that building.
A co-op board is a group of people appointed by the residents, and the co-op board has the power to create and enforce rules for the benefit of the residents and the property. Now that we're caught up, people wondered why the co-op allowed this to happen.
Ashley said that she's not mad about their decision. She shared that they sounded apologetic and were on her side when they informed her about the complaint.

If you want to show your love to Ashley and her toddler, you can do so by checking out her books. We also encourage you to draw sidewalk chalk art in honor of her toddler!
Bonus: you just might smoke out potential Karens in your street who could use a reckoning of their own. Happy chalk art-ing!
