French Artist Re-Draws 18 Disney Heroines In Beautiful Kimonos For Fun When She's Not Working As A Web Developer

With this kind of talent, it's hard to believe this is just a side project.

French web developer Karine Jamet turns her love of drawing, sumi-e, and kimono culture into something unexpectedly charming. In her spare time, she created a colorful series that reimagines Disney heroines in beautifully detailed kimonos, with each look echoing something from the character's original story.

Based in Marseille, Jamet shares her artwork through DeviantArt, Twitter, and her blog, where the project has drawn attention for its mix of pop culture and traditional Japanese style. The result is a playful set of portraits that feels both familiar and fresh.
