Young Woman Faces Public Ridicule When Optician Reveals Her Personal Medical Condition
'WHAAAT', 'No way!, 'Are you legally blind?'
Medical professionals can maintain comedy as a positive factor in their lives while still giving their patients the finest treatment. This is possible if they actively practice clinical sympathy and concentrate on using humor in a way that is respectful to their patients.
Compared to people outside of the medical field, medical professionals appear to interpret comedy very differently. Doctors and nurses contend that humor is essential to their work.
In a field where patients are frequently ill, injured, or dying, what could they possibly find so amusing? Many patients are appalled that their doctor might make fun of them in the future, but doing it in front of them is on another level.
For context, the OP of today's story is a 29-year-old, and she has never met anyone with worse vision than hers. The OP is severely nearsighted, and it’s been a huge insecurity for her her entire life.
When she was younger, she would lie about her prescription and tell people it was much lower than it actually was. This is just so she wouldn't feel so different because she would be laughed at if she told the truth.
The OP needed new glasses, and her mom took her to the optician she goes to regularly. What the OP wasn't expecting was that this optician would make a mockery of her situatio,n but she wasn't one to just keep quiet and let it slide.

You probably joke around with your coworkers, regardless of your line of employment. For medical professionals, the majority of their daily lives are hectic, and they need to unwind from time to time.
However, many people outside the medical field find it strange that medical personnel make jokes at work. It's fine to make jokes and laugh, but don't do it at your patient's expense.
Of course, Redditors supported the OP, and that is most important. Drop your thoughts about this story in the comment section, and don't forget to share as well.
