Melrose Place Cast Shares Revival Roadblocks, a Surprise Sydney Theory and Grant Show's Strangest Fan Story

At 90s Con, Melrose Place stars shared a revival update, family viewing confessions and Grant Show's bizarre fan encounter.

A Melrose Place reunion in Connecticut delivered more than cast nostalgia. Fans got a fresh status report on the proposed revival, plus a batch of stories that sounded almost as soapy as the series itself.

Melrose Place fans got a new, if cautious, update on the show's possible return when Heather Locklear, Grant Show, Daphne Zuniga, Laura Leighton, Jack Wagner and Rob Estes reunited at 90s Con in Hartford, Connecticut. The fifth anniversary convention was held October 16 to 18, 2026, and the group said a revival is still being worked on. The catch is that business complications are keeping it from becoming a sure thing, even as the cast said they would be open to coming back if the script is right.

The panel also turned into a reminder that the Fox hit, which ran from 1992 to 1999, inspired unusual fan encounters. Show recalled being at a nightclub where a woman nearby was giving him plenty of attention, which did not sit well with her boyfriend. He said he tried to defuse the moment by introducing himself, only for the man to bite his hand. Show told the crowd the bite did not break the skin.

Another audience prompt brought up Seinfeld's Melrose Place joke, which led to an unexpected crossover detail. The police officer Jerry dates in that episode was played by Katherine LaNasa, who later became Show's wife. Show said they did not know each other at the time. He also said LaNasa still has not watched Melrose Place.

That put her in company with some of the cast's own families. Locklear said her daughter, Ava, has never watched the show. Estes said his children have no interest in seeing it, though he added that younger relatives who did find the series had one main reaction, that their dad looked good back then.

As for what a revival might actually look like, the cast had ideas. Zuniga pictured Jo moving from photography into filmmaking and becoming more comfortable with herself, though a reunion with Jake could reignite old feelings. Show said Jake might still be slinging burgers at the Roadside Cafe. Estes imagined Kyle remaining in the restaurant business, drinking too much and slipping back into an unhealthy relationship with Taylor, Lisa Rinna's character. Locklear said Rinna always brings the drama and has great energy. Leighton made the most soap-style argument of all, insisting Sydney should not stay dead because, in television terms, if you did not really see the body, the character can still be alive.
