Disneyland Paris' Up ride has more balloons, but the sky swings still are not there

New details have appeared on Disneyland Paris' Up ride site, but the Wilderness Explorer Sky Swings hardware is still missing.

The next visible change at Disneyland Paris' Up attraction is not the ride itself. New site photos show added balloon details and more finished work on the queue building for Wilderness Explorer Sky Swings, even though the swings still have not appeared.

What changed at the construction site

The latest update from Disney Adventure World shows progress on the structure guests will pass before boarding. Since an early October look at the project, scaffolding has been removed from the towers on both ends of the curved queue building, and their red and beige paint appears to be finished.

Both towers are capped with domes topped by balloons. Under the dome on the right tower, more balloons have now been added. On the left side, one tower still lacks some of the decorative molding already installed on the other, and crew members were seen working in that area.

Elsewhere on the building, one of the semi-circle openings on the right tower is covered with plywood. Wiring is visible above the openings where illuminated signs are expected to go. There are already lightbulbs along the molding, and what looks like a ceiling light fixture can be seen inside the tower. More wiring hangs inside those openings as well.

What fans are still waiting for

The biggest missing piece is still the attraction itself. Wilderness Explorer Sky Swings, a flying chair carousel inspired by Up, is planned to sit between the two towers in front of the curved queue building, but the site still shows no sign of the swings.

Earlier artwork for the area previewed the signage expected here. The doorways are set to carry stand-by and Premier Access signs, with the attraction name above them.

For Disneyland Paris visitors tracking the park's upcoming additions, that means the queue facade is gaining more finished detail now, while the ride hardware remains absent. The timeline for guests has not changed in this update: Wilderness Explorer Sky Swings is still scheduled to open next year.
