Disneyland’s New Monsters, Inc. Halloween Freebie Turns Pixar Place Hotel Decor Into Wallpapers
Disneyland has released Monsters, Inc. Halloween wallpapers inspired by Pixar Place Hotel decor, with hotel trick or treating and room discounts also in effect.
Disneyland Resort has added a small Halloween extra for Monsters, Inc. fans: a new set of downloadable wallpapers based on the seasonal decor now on display at Pixar Place Hotel. The artwork pulls from the hotel’s first Halloween treatment inspired by the Pixar film, and it arrives while Halloween Time continues across the resort through October 31.
What changed for fans
The new offering is a collection of Monsters, Inc. themed wallpapers for desktop, mobile and smart watch devices. The designs are based on the Halloween decorations currently installed at Pixar Place Hotel, giving fans a way to carry part of that display onto their screens.
The artwork centers on familiar faces from Monstropolis, including Mike and Sulley, along with other recognizable characters and one hidden human. The scenes lean into Halloween with costumes, candy and the franchise’s signature doors, a visual element drawn from the original 2001 film.
Disney artist Brett Snodgrass created the work, drawing on earlier concept art from both Monsters, Inc. and Monsters University. He said he looked closely at the shapes and compositions developed by artists on those films, and that guests will notice those influences in the finished pieces.
The project also involved Walt Disney Imagineering, Pixar Animation Studios and Resort Enhancement at Disneyland Resort. Snodgrass worked with Pixar teams in Emeryville to keep the hotel characters consistent with their established look, personality and story before the designs were translated from concept art into the hotel’s lobby environment and then into downloadable wallpapers.

Who it affects, and the related hotel extras
The wallpapers are aimed at Disney and Pixar fans who want a seasonal download, but the broader rollout ties back to guests visiting Disneyland Resort during Halloween Time, which runs from August 21 through October 31.
At Pixar Place Hotel, the decor includes candy themed details inspired by Monstropolis treats such as Bog Water Taffy, Carasmell Chews and Sludge Brownies. Visitors staying at Disneyland Resort hotels in October also have another Halloween option: a limited time trick or treat trail for overnight guests across all three Hotels of the Disneyland Resort.
That experience is available on select days in October and is included for participating overnight guests. To join, guests need to stop by the Front Desk to sign up and pick up a wristband, goodie guide and treat bag.
Disneyland Resort is also offering up to 20 percent off select room types for stays of three or more nights at a Disneyland Resort hotel from October 11 through December 18, 2026. Guests visiting Pixar Place Hotel can also look for a seasonal pastry at The Sketch Pad Café while checking out the hotel’s Monsters, Inc. Halloween decor.
