50 Outdoor Halloween Setups People Were So Proud Of, They Had To Show The Internet
From giant spiders eating delivery drivers to a UK yard that could rival a Hollywood haunt, the internet’s spooky season brag board is open. Here’s what people
There is a special kind of October joy that happens on sidewalks. You turn a corner, the air smells like leaves and sugar, and then you see it.
Twelve feet of skeleton with red eyes watching the cul-de-sac. A front door that is suddenly a monster mouth. A porch where someone stitched together a whole coven, cauldron glow and all. You stop. You stare. You grin like a kid.
For many of us, Halloween starts as a box of tangled lights and ends as a little piece of theater. Neighbors become set designers. Parents become prop artists. We test shadows on siding and argue about pumpkin placement. It is communal and slightly ridiculous and that is the fun.
Most people start in early October to soak it in as long as possible. Only a small group waits until the week before, then sprints. They are not wrong. There is still time to make magic.
This year, proud decorators shared their greatest hits online. Some are eerie. Some are adorable. Some are funny in a way that makes the whole street chuckle. Together they feel like postcards from people who decided to delight strangers. Honestly, that might be the best part of Halloween.

I found out my offer was accepted on my house on Halloween 2023, and I closed in November, so this year was my first Halloween at my first house. And it was everything I wanted! We had between 1300-1400 trick-or-treaters. The whole neighborhood goes all out. It was Halloween heaven. I’m already trying to figure out how to make next year even better.

The top three were announced today (I made top 3!) with the winner will be announced on Halloween. I worked SO hard on this monster, so although it doesn’t look like much in terms of decor, I really poured my heart into this piece. I’ve never crafted anything to this scale before (it’s approx 8 ft long) and I’m super proud of how she turned out. It took many hours and long nights to get her finished in time.

Here is what these photos remind us. Holidays are not just dates on a calendar. They are shared little scenes we build for each other.
You do not need a twelve-foot skeleton to pull that off. A shadow werewolf on a wall works. A few painted tapers work. A silly sign works. Pick a theme, grab a couple of moody pieces, try one DIY, and open the door. If you walk past a house that made you smile, tell them.
If this inspired a new idea, drop it in the comments. Share this with the friend who always says next year. Make it this year!
