Peter Parker and Miles Morales Will Clash in Marvel’s Crisis of Faith Crossover in 2027
Marvel will put Peter Parker and Miles Morales on opposing sides in Crisis of Faith, a Spider-Man crossover that begins in April 2027.
Spider-Man readers are about to get a built-in argument: Peter Parker and Miles Morales are heading to opposite sides of the same story. Marvel has confirmed Crisis of Faith for 2027, with the crossover beginning in April after years in which the two heroes were described as each other’s support system.
The new event was announced during the Saturday Marvel Comics: The Spider-Web panel at New York Comic Con. Crisis of Faith is being written by Bryan Hill and Joe Kelly, a pairing that gives each half of the conflict a familiar hand. Hill previously wrote Miles Morales: Spider-Man, while Kelly has written Amazing Spider-Man.
Editor Nick Lowe said the split grows out of trouble on both sides. According to Lowe, Peter has been making riskier choices since Hellgate punched him into space, and some of those choices are set to come to light, leaving Miles unhappy. Lowe also said Peter has his own concerns, because Miles has been keeping what he called strange and questionable company.
Marvel also previewed the crossover with art by Ryan Stegman, while holding back further story details for later.
More Spider titles are on the way
Crisis of Faith is part of a larger 2027 Spider-Man publishing slate.
Spider-Punk #1 arrives in January, bringing Cody Ziglar and Justin Mason back together, with covers by Taurin Clarke. The series follows Hobie Brown as he looks for his missing bandmates and runs into a new villain named Mz. Negative.
In February, Spider-Man: Noir returns in a new run from writer Alex Segura and artist Farid Karami. That story pulls its Peter Parker into a case tied to a mysterious underworld artifact, his new girlfriend’s ex, and Venom Noir.
Marvel is also launching an anthology called Marvel SFX: Thwip, with stories from Jed MacKay, Stephen Graham Jones, and Rainbow Rowell, and more creators planned for later issues.
For fans tracking Miles across comics and screen, the crossover lands in the same year Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is set to reach theaters on June 18, 2027.
