There is no shortage of social media platforms on the Internet eager and willing to feature a plethora of cat content. Be they pictures, videos, tweets, or stories... they're all getting posted for entertainment purposes and shared far and wide for the pure joy they provide us all.

Of course, when it comes to navigating the best of the best from the best of the rest, it's not always so clean-cut of a process. Of course, that's where we tend to come in (and you may already be familiar with our ability to comb through the cat content of the universe.)

A mere 70 years ago you'd be hard-pressed to find any cats living indoors. Such an honor was few and far between.

Prior to modern history, the relationship between humans and cats began some 10-12,000 years ago with Middle Eastern wildcats, or felix silvestris lybica, when humans shifted from a nomadic lifestyle to an agricultural one and the wildcats began sticking to these developing communities of humans because of the abundance of their preferential prey (rodents.)

Cats have evolved a lot since then, of course, but until modern inventions and luxuries came into the picture, keeping cats entirely indoors simply wasn't possible. Now that we have litter boxes, air conditioning, and we regularly spay and neuter cats, it's a lot easier to keep them close to our hearts and homes despite the fact that not much about their biological instincts has changed at all.
