Shameless Groom Refuses To Give The Photographer Food After Working For 10 Hours At Their Wedding So She Deletes All Of Their Pictures On The Spot
The photographer was their friend, and they only offered to pay her $250 for the entire event.
Some favors come with a price tag, and this wedding photographer learned that the hard way. What started as a helping hand for a friend turned into a long, sweaty, 10-hour day with barely any pay and no dinner in sight.
The woman behind the camera is actually a dog groomer who takes photos of her canine clients, not a full-time wedding photographer. Still, she agreed to shoot her friend’s wedding for $250, then spent the day following the bride, covering the ceremony, and working the reception while the groom told her she could not stop to eat because she was not technically a guest.
By the time the food came out, she was exhausted, hungry, and done being treated like an afterthought. That decision set off a mess the couple clearly did not see coming.
She told the groom that she would take off for 20 minutes to find food and drinks.
The groom told her that she either needed to be a photographer or leave without getting paid. That was the last straw for the photographer.
Fed up with their antics, she deleted all of the pictures she took in front of the shameless groom. She left but not before telling him that she was officially not their photographer anymore.
The newlyweds went on their honeymoon and went MIA on their social media accounts. People are commenting, asking where the photos from the wedding are.
The photographer is feeling a bit guilty and wonders if she was wrong for deleting the pictures and taking off. What do you think?

OP was basically starving the whole day

People were quick to point out that she had been treated badly from the start.
They treated her so badly, and they were low-balling her with the pay. There's no upside to this.

If you want good photos for your wedding, don't piss off the photographer
JuryNo7670
See how great the photos turn out when people are treated like humans and not commodities?

If someone's doing you a favor by giving you almost free labor, you better treat them right

OP would have had a better day with the dogs she photographs

The groom is the real a**hole in this story

This is what you get when you play stupid games

Ohh, the plot thickens. Does the wife know the real story?
Plantsandanger
Technically, OP just followed the groom's instructions

Drop the friendship, yes?

It's just common sense, right?

Apparently not, and it happens so much that contractors put it in writing.

After all the attention the post got, the photographer decided to write an update about the issue.
The couple went incognito after the wedding and were holed up in a cottage with no updates on their online profiles. The photographer noticed all the comments they received asking for wedding photos.
When they got back, the bride called the photographer and asked what the real story was. The groom wasn't truthful and told his new wife that their photographer friend had a problem with her camera and lost all the pictures.
The photographer told the wife plainly what happened and said that while she felt guilty, she didn't appreciate the way she was treated when she was, in fact, doing them a favor.
The wife asked if there was any way to reconcile. After some discussion, the photographer agreed to a photoshoot of the newlyweds under the condition that she could back out at any moment if they said something she didn't like.
She even offered to go to a technician, which they would pay for, to attempt to recover the deleted photographs. The wife declined this offer.
Speaking of wedding-level entitlement, the friend who refused to pay for pet grooming after a messy pet-sitting mishap is another mess.

The photographer's final update can be read below:

We've been blessed with a final update from the photographer:
The photographer managed to get the bride to tell the real story about what happened on her Facebook account. They initially told people the husband's version of events.
As for the photoshoot, she actually followed through. The couple wanted to do a winter shoot during late November, but they asked the photographer to do it earlier.
She agreed because she had free time that day. She drove up to the vineyard and met with the dolled-up couple.
While OP was unloading her equipment, she laid out her plan for the photos. When it was time to carry out the sandbags, OP asked the husband to unload them for her, which he declined, saying it was OP's job as the photographer.
Finally, OP had enough, and she began loading all of her things back into the car. She got into the vehicle despite the couple's protests.
Before driving away, she told them that when both of them get married again, they should not hire her as a photographer. OP blocked them immediately and has since distanced herself.

As for the people messaging OP and commenting that she's not a real photographer, she had this to say:
Icy-Reserve6995
OP is a really good person just trying her best to upskill. She's helping animals get adopted by taking photos of them!

If OP really doesn't want to deal with entitled brides and grooms again, she might be better off in a more rewarding field of photography.

Imagine treating your friend this way? She's doing you a solid by taking time out of her busy schedule to take professional-quality photos for you with little to no pay.
The audacity of some people to treat others like garbage is astounding. Then, when their sh*tty behavior results in awful consequences, they get shocked as if they did nothing wrong.
Hopefully, the photographer is having a better time now that she's no longer friends with these people. She didn't lose anything, unlike the couple who lost all their wedding photos and a good friend.
Some friendships end the moment someone gets entitled.
