OP’s Mother-In-Law Poses As Her And Tried To Ruin Her Marriage By Baiting Co-Workers To Have An Affair

Some mother-in-law visits come with awkward small talk, but this one came with a full-blown sabotage attempt. OP thought the drama had already peaked when her husband’s mother accused her of cheating, only to find out the real problem was much messier.

Her mother-in-law had never liked her, and the tension got worse when she showed up during the pandemic and started snooping through OP’s phone. What she thought was proof of an affair turned out to be harmless work messages, but that did not stop her from trying again, this time by posing as OP and baiting her co-workers.

That is where the story takes a very strange turn, and the fallout was immediate. Read on.

OP’s husband had his mother stay at a hotel and would only visit during the day. She tried to save face by saying that even if OP wasn’t having an affair with her co-workers, she should quit her job to be a full-time housewife.

OP’s husband called out her ridiculousness, which made her more upset and fueled her to plot again. One day, when the husband wasn’t around, the MIL was sitting on their couch, immersed in watching daytime TV.

OP took this opportunity to take a work call in her makeshift home office while she waited for her phone to charge in the living room. The Zoom call was going okay; it was between her and the five guys she worked closely with.

Until one of the guys clearly made a face and asked her to join him in the breakout room. He asked if she had texted him, and when she denied it, the co-worker showed a text from her phone asking him to send a dirty picture.

OP then caught her MIL red-handed with her phone, trying to bait other guys into having an affair. What the MIL didn’t know was that the guy she sent the text to was already married and was also gay.

OP’s husband found out and cut his mother’s trip short. They drove her to the airport and immediately said goodbye.

It was a great thing that OP has a healthy relationship with both her husband and her co-workers. The relentlessness of her MIL to break them apart, not to mention her denial about her wrongdoings, doesn’t deserve to win.

The MIL might have to change her ways before they allow her to visit again. If she doesn’t, it might end up with them cutting complete contact with her, which will sever any chance for a connection.
