This "Princess Mononoke" Motorbike Created By A Motor Studio Guy Is Making Us Drool With Its Majestic Glory
"It took Osiyuyu three weeks [to complete the design], painting little by little every day."
Art is everywhere, and it can be seen in many forms—paintings, music, sculptures, and more. One of the most commonly consumed visual media we encounter is movies.
There is an endless array of genres, which means there is always something for everyone to watch. Although most mainstream movies feature real humans, some are actually crafted from scratch—many of them are Studio Ghibli’s animated films.
Studio Ghibli is known for creating animations where each frame is drawn individually, unlike recent animations that use 3D elements to speed up the animation process. Their films feature a somewhat simplistic art style that captivates many people's hearts.
One of the essential parts of a movie is the storyline—and this is exactly why people love their work so much. The characters in their stories are relatable, and the plots always convey valuable lessons that are applicable to real life.
People can’t get enough of Studio Ghibli’s works; some are creating designs inspired by the Japanese animation company’s films. One of their well-known animators is co-founder Hayao Miyazaki, who also directed many of the studio’s notable productions.
When you enjoy something, it’s common for people to want to incorporate their beloved fandom into their daily lives. One individual, in particular, has designed a motorbike based on one of Miyazaki’s famous works: Princess Mononoke.
A motorbike design inspired by Studio Ghibli’s film was created by David Borras, who is from a motorcycle company called El Solitario.
El SolitarioPrincess Mononoke is a film about the connection and conflict between the environment and humans. With a great message and themes appropriate for kids aged 13 and up, it is no wonder why the animation is a fan favorite.
El Solitario"This had been my old racing bike for ages," he shares. Deciding on the initial design idea was a collaborative effort with his family: "And when we talked at home about giving it a new look, our kids jumped on the Princess Mononoke theme as it is their favorite movie of all time."

In designing the layout, selecting the color palette, and choosing the scenery for the project, he reached out and collaborated with painter Manolo Osiyuyu.

At the center of this amazing handiwork is a painting of San’s (one of the main characters in the movie) iconic mask, painted on the front of the motorcycle.

Two versions—daytime and nighttime—of the iconic forest found in the movie can be seen painted on both sides.

"Once that was done, it took Osiyuyu three weeks [to complete the design], painting little by little every day."

The effort poured into this cannot be expressed in words. The amount of detail that can be spotted all over the bike makes this majestic piece worth it.

Borras is not even considering selling the bike, "but it could happen if someone was interested enough."

Well, this motorcycle certainly proves that creating art is not limited to a brush and a canvas—it can literally be done in any medium you choose. Art is about putting your own unique twist on the things that inspire you the most.
