Professors have to deal with a lot, and cheating is one of the most significant issues. As technology progresses, so do the methods that students can use to cheat on exams. What is most sad of all is that they don’t even have to be smart or resourceful to do it. It is all easily available on the internet; all you have to do is be excused to go to the bathroom… anyone can do it.

However, there are some examples of professors going the extra mile to catch cheaters, and that makes us, non-cheaters, very happy.

It may come as a surprise to many that websites where you can get answers to homework questions exist. It’s probably acceptable to use them responsibly, like the OP does, to check your results and similar. But how many people use them for that purpose?

And for those of you who sympathize with the punished students, don’t. They cheated. Period. And they cheated foolishly.
