Employee Goes Viral For Telling His Story About How He Quit Because His PTO Was Denied

We've all wanted to do this but this guy actually did.

A TikTok video about a denied PTO request is hitting way too close to home, because Newman’s story is basically the corporate version of “you can’t sit with us.” He planned a Europe trip, asked for the time off, and got a straight-up no from the company that signs his paycheck.

And here’s what makes it messy, Europe wasnt just a random weekend idea, it was his chance to actually see the continent. Newman stepped into the request expecting a normal approval process, then realized the days he needed were denied, even though his job clearly wasn’t willing to deal with the fallout of him being gone.

His caption said it all: “When you get the chance to see Europe, you don’t say no!” Here’s the full story.

Starting this off with a GIF that truly does explain the whole situation here.

If you've ever had time off denied then you know just how frustrating it is and many of us have just wanted to go on the trip or do the thing despite the time off being denied.

TikTok user Newman, who is @newmanparkerr went to the social media platform to talk about the situation in detail and tell us what really happened.

Most companies truly don't want you to take off days especially if you're in an important position or if they have to find a replacement, so getting time off denied like this is not an uncommon thing for many people, which is why this guy did exactly what so many of us have wanted to do before.

Newman planned his trip for Europe, went in to ask off for the days, only to realize that the time off was denied by the company that he works for.

The caption of his video says "When you get the chance to see Europe, you don't say no!" Which this is something we definitely agree with and I think he's realized that the experience from this trip will be a transformation in his life and his job clearly doesn't care enough to give him the time off.Newman planned his trip for Europe, went in to ask off for the days, only to realize that the time off was denied by the company that he works for.@newmanparkerr

This is the original video here and you can see his videos on his profile where he talks about this situation.

Newman went to ask for the Europe days, and instead of a yes, his company hit him with a denial that felt personal.

This is similar to the Europe trip fallout where a friend backed out and left them holding the bill.

That Europe plan turned into a power struggle fast, because Newman’s job treated his time off like an inconvenience instead of a normal human need.

When Newman realized his company would rather keep him in place than make room for his trip, his next move stopped being “polite” and started being “brave.”

Now the whole thing reads like a warning label, if your boss blocks PTO, don’t act surprised when you walk anyway.

We have to remember that a lot of these bosses or companies really don't care about us, and they really just want us to be there to do the work and fill the position. Many of us have plans outside of work, and of course, we all have lives outside of work, so asking for time off is not a criminal move, even though companies act like it is.

We are praising this guy for his decision.

If your company denies Europe, it might be the reason you quit.

Wait, it gets worse, see what happened when a friend bailed last minute and left them covering the vacation expenses.
