Scorpion is a resurrected ninja in the fighting universe of Mortal Kombat and is most certainly considered the game's mascot. His name is Hanzo Hasashi, and he debuted as an original character in the very first version of the game... in the arcade!

Not only is he one of the original characters, but he holds a particularly unique distinction (along with Raiden and at least one version of Sub-Zero) of being a playable character in every single subsequent version of the Mortal Kombat games. He has been portrayed as both a villain and a supporting character.

After completing his run as Iron Man at the end of Avengers: Endgame, Robert Downey Jr. told Stephen Colbert it was the "greatest joy" to experience Iron Man by playing the character. He said:

“It was all there in the universe to begin with, and that’s why I think the Marvel comics have been so numinous to kids, grownups, and people. There’s this love for it because it speaks to the world, but it also speaks to the democratic American projected dream, which is far more complicated than that (laughs). But there’s an ideal there that’s always been trying to express itself, and strangely, in some ways, the best of it has been expressed in these little two-hour segments of entertainment.”
