Photographer Hunts Down People He Photographed Nearly 40 Years Ago to Recreate Their Images
Photographer Chris Porsz recreates photographs taken nearly four decades ago, and it's mesmerizing.
Some photographers spend a lifetime chasing the perfect shot, but Chris Porsz turned that idea into a decades-long project. The British photographer has spent nearly 40 years tracking down people he once photographed in Peterborough, then recreating the original images in the same places.
His Reunions project began with street photography in the 1970s and grew into something much bigger, a visual record of how ordinary lives change over time. The results are part nostalgia, part surprise, and often deeply personal for the people who stepped back in front of his camera years later.
Now, with Reunions 2, the before-and-after photos show just how much can change, and how much can stay the same.
