Online Community Provides Honest Answers on Products They Purchased Because of the Hype but Discovered to Be a Waste of Money
Most of the time, we purchase things based on how hyped the product is, but the fact remains that what works for one person might not work for another.
A viral Reddit thread about hyped-up products quickly turned into a long list of buyer’s remorse. From beauty buys to household gadgets, people shared the items they thought would be worth the money, only to find out the hype did not match the reality.
In this case, a Redditor asked the r/AskWomen community which products they bought because everyone was talking about them, but later regretted spending money on. The responses came fast, and the comments covered everything from skincare and makeup to appliances and trendy household items.
Some of the answers are brutally honest, and a few may sound very familiar. Read on.

If I get a product and it works perfectly for me, I’d hype it to everyone who needs to hear it. But when you purchase it and it doesn’t work for you, then... it all depends on the individual because what works for one person might not work for another.
We’d love to hear your take on this, so leave a comment if you’ve bought a hyped product but thought it was a waste of money.
That is the risk of buying into the hype.
