Issues Retail Employees Have To Deal With Daily That They Wish Would Just Disappear
Life would be much easier if people avoided doing these things.
Retail employees have to deal with the same kind of nonsense day after day, and the worst part is how predictable it is. One minute you’re just trying to do your job, the next minute someone is acting like basic rules are a personal attack.
It usually starts small, like a customer refusing to wear a mask but then acting shocked that employees “have to deal with it.” Then you get the crowd that thinks they’re hilarious, repeating the same joke, parroting the same sarcastic lines, and sharing way too much personal information like the checkout counter is a therapist’s couch. Add in the people who refuse politeness, show up late, and make everyone’s shift longer, and suddenly a normal retail day turns into a full-contact event.
Here’s the full story behind the comments retail workers wish would disappear.
1. You could always go to another business that doesn't require masks.
At least you can spot them from miles away and prepare yourself mentally.
Reddit2. They obviously have direct contact with the World Health Organization and know these things.

Reusing the same joke over and over again.

This is similar to the office lunch standoff after a coworker repeatedly stole it.

That’s when the mask rule turns into a whole performance, especially when customers act like they’re being singled out.

Right after that, the WHO “insider knowledge” comments and the same reused punchlines start rolling in like it’s open mic night at the register.

Then the “it’s straightforward yet complicated for some people” line shows up, and suddenly the employee has to explain the same instructions again and again.

By the time someone decides to come in at the last second and makes the shift longer, the rude door-slam comments feel less like jokes and more like a threat.

Working in retail is definitely not for everyone. You always have to treat customers like kings and queens despite their peasant behavior, and that's not something everyone can manage. It takes minimal effort to be a decent, polite person, but people prefer being rude and treating retail workers poorly.
This list should remind everyone that this sort of behavior is unacceptable, and many need to reevaluate their actions. If you enjoyed this list, make sure to share it with your friends and check out similar content on our platform.
Nobody wants to work for free, especially when customers treat them like the problem.
