The beauty and fashion industry are always evolving, even when we don't realize it at first. Many women have grown up believing that they need to tweak or fix certain aspects of themselves to feel more confident and conform to societal standards. Some people go to great lengths, including makeup and surgeries, to achieve the permanent changes they believe will help them improve their appearance.
Today, the beauty industry is worth about $532 billion overall, and the demand to enhance our looks continues to rise steadily. While many of us may think that makeup, surgeries, and beauty trends are completely normal, there are actually numerous "hacks" out there that are so borderline ridiculous they seem designed for people to mock.
These "trends" didn't just emerge out of nowhere; they have existed for centuries. However, the trends of today are nowhere near as absurd as those our ancestors endured, as some of them are so gross that it's hard to believe people actually engaged in them back then!
