This Redditor’s Siblings Won’t Return Her Texts — But They’re Still Enjoying Her Streaming Services

Now she’s debating whether hitting “change password” makes her petty… or just done.

Some people don’t just stop checking in, they quietly keep taking. In this Reddit post, OP’s brother and sister went cold on her for a month, but they’re still happily using her Netflix and Disney+ accounts.

It started with the usual family dynamic, the sister and brother would call when they needed to vent, OP would listen, worry, and help. But once OP tried to talk about feeling alone and unappreciated, her sister snapped back that OP was selfish, and then both siblings stopped responding to her texts.

Now OP is stuck with a messy question: do you cut off the streaming access, or let the mooching slide while they act like you don’t exist?

The OP can’t shake the feeling that she’s being used by people who don’t seem to care about her at all.

Original Post

Hi - obligatory on mobile so please forgive me notice! My bro (26m) and my sis (20f) have recently stopped talking to me or responding to my messages (it's been about a month). This, I think, is mostly because I called them out on their lack of interest in me or my life.
Previously they would call me when they wanted to rant or vent about their lives or about our parents (mum can be a challenge) and I would listen and sometimes give them advice and help them out where I could. These conversations often took an emotional toll on me as I'm a worrier and often took their stresses and concerns on board. They wouldn't ask about my life or how I was feeling only about my kids. My interaction began to make me feel very alone and unappreciated and I told my sister that and she responded that I was selfish and that she has been the only one who was there for me (not true) and we left it at that. Now neither of them is speaking to me but here's where I could become a AH, they both sponge off my Netflix and Disney+ accounts because they don't want to pay for their own and they have no other TV services. I only gave my passwords to my sister but she shared them with my bro so they both sponge. I could change my passwords and deny them access to the accounts but it would mostly be out of spite but why should I let them use my accounts when they really don't seem to care about me at all?So wibta if I changed the passwords? Should I do it anyway? Apologies for the essay please forgive!

OP says her brother and sister only contact her when they want to rant, then suddenly go silent after she calls out how one-sided it all feels.

The real twist is that OP’s sister shared her passwords with her brother, so both of them are enjoying Netflix and Disney+ even while ignoring OP’s messages.

OP is basically weighing spite versus boundaries, because changing the passwords would be a direct “no more access” move.

The Redditors are split between “your account, your choice” and “they’re adults, pay for their own,” all while OP’s siblings keep benefiting from the silence.

In the end, the Redditor isn’t just debating a streaming password — she’s questioning why she’s still showing up for people who won’t show up for her. And while the internet can’t decide if hitting “log out of all devices” is petty or powerful, plenty of commenters agree on one thing: boundaries don’t come with a family plan.

OP might finally get her attention back by cutting off the streaming, because nobody gets to ghost you and still log in.
