This Redditor’s Siblings Won’t Return Her Texts — But They’re Still Enjoying Her Streaming Services

Now she’s debating whether hitting “change password” makes her petty… or just done.

Reddit user u/worriwart12 says that both her siblings — a 26-year-old brother and a 20-year-old sister — have suddenly stopped speaking to her. It’s been about a month of unanswered messages, and she suspects it’s tied to a recent confrontation.

She says her siblings used to call mainly when they needed to vent about their lives or complain about family drama, especially issues involving their mom. She would listen, offer advice, and emotionally show up, even though those conversations often left her drained because she tends to internalize other people’s stress.

What hurt most was that they rarely asked how she was doing. When they did check in, it was usually only to ask about her kids, which slowly made her feel invisible and unappreciated.

Eventually, the Redditor told her sister how lonely the dynamic made her feel. The conversation went badly, with her sister calling her selfish and claiming she was the only one who had ever supported her, something the OP strongly disagrees with.

Since then, both siblings have gone completely silent. But there’s one thing they haven’t given up.

They still use the OP’s Netflix and Disney+ accounts. The passwords were shared with her sister, who then passed them along to her brother, and neither of them pays for access.

Now the Redditor is conflicted. Changing the passwords might be petty, but she can’t shake the feeling that she’s being used by people who don’t seem to care about her at all.

So she’s left wondering: would she be wrong for cutting off the streaming services, or is this just a long-overdue boundary with a hint of justified pettiness?

Hi - obligatory on mobile so please forgive me notice! My bro (26m) and my sis (20f) have recently stopped talking to me or responding to my messages (it's been about a month). This, I think, is mostly because I called them out on their lack of interest in me or my life.Previously they would call me when they wanted to rant or vent about their lives or about our parents (mum can be a challenge) and I would listen and sometimes give them advice and help them out where I could. These conversations often took an emotional toll on me as I'm a worrier and often took their stresses and concerns on board. They wouldn't ask about my life or how I was feeling only about my kids. My interaction began to make me feel very alone and unappreciated and I told my sister that and she responded that I was selfish and that she has been the only one who was there for me (not true) and we left it at that. Now neither of them is speaking to me but here's where I could become a AH, they both sponge off my Netflix and Disney+ accounts because they don't want to pay for their own and they have no other TV services. I only gave my passwords to my sister but she shared them with my bro so they both sponge. I could change my passwords and deny them access to the accounts but it would mostly be out of spite but why should I let them use my accounts when they really don't seem to care about me at all?So wibta if I changed the passwords? Should I do it anyway? Apologies for the essay please forgive!

In the end, the Redditor isn’t just debating a streaming password — she’s questioning why she’s still showing up for people who won’t show up for her. And while the internet can’t decide if hitting “log out of all devices” is petty or powerful, plenty of commenters agree on one thing: boundaries don’t come with a family plan.
