Sister-in-Law Tries to Steal Grandmas Famous Stuffing Recipe

AITA for refusing to share my grandma's famous stuffing recipe with my sister-in-law who wants to claim it as her own? Family legacy vs. culinary theft.

A family stuffing recipe turned into a full-blown Thanksgiving feud after one woman said her sister-in-law tried to claim it for herself.

The 29-year-old Reddit user says her late grandmother’s famous stuffing has been a treasured part of every holiday meal for generations, and now she is the one holding the recipe. But when her sister-in-law, 31, kept pushing to get it, the situation got messy fast, especially after a family dinner where she served a suspiciously similar dish.

What started as a recipe request turned into a question of family loyalty, pride, and who gets to carry on a tradition. The dinner table drama only made it worse.

So I'm (29F), and every Thanksgiving, my grandma would make this incredible stuffing recipe that's been passed down for generations. It's a secret family recipe, and it's always been the highlight of our holiday dinners.

Sadly, my grandma passed away last year, and I inherited the recipe. For background, my sister-in-law (31F) has always been competitive with me, especially when it comes to cooking.

She's been asking me for the stuffing recipe since my grandma's passing, claiming she wants to carry on the tradition. However, I know she's just trying to show off and pass it off as her own creation.

Recently, we had a family dinner where my sister-in-law brought a stuffing dish that suspiciously tasted just like my grandma's recipe. When I asked her about it, she sheepishly admitted she got it from a cooking blog and tweaked a few things.

I was furious that she tried to replicate our family recipe without permission, let alone claim it as her own. I refused to share the real recipe with her, causing tension at the dinner.

My sister-in-law accused me of being selfish and hoarding a simple recipe. She even tried to guilt-trip me, saying my grandma would have wanted us to share.

It’s giving the same kind of messy tension as the woman debating ending her best friend’s secret fling.
