50 Times People Rolled Up Their Sleeves and Publicly Raised Their Voices Against Social Injustice Online
Some individuals are simply allergic to unfair treatment!
Some people are allergic to the unfair treatment of others, regardless of race, religion, or any other social divide. When they witness others being treated unfairly, ridiculous statements being made, or insults being hurled without remorse, they feel compelled to stand up and remind everyone that the universe is a place for justice. As noted by Dr. Jonathan Haidt, a social psychologist, "The best way to combat injustice is to engage in dialogue and promote understanding among diverse groups." If you're on social media, like most of us, you're aware of how much nonsense is shared there every day. Fortunately, a fair number of people seize the opportunity to publicly share their perspectives on social justice because every enlightening, informative, and clarifying post helps. Despite the fact that many people understand the importance of speaking out against injustice, whether it be racism or homophobia, there has been a troubling increase in hate speech around the world in recent years. It appears that efforts to combat the surge of hate speech and xenophobia on social media are largely falling short, as hate is increasing rather than decreasing. This sentiment is echoed by Dr. Michele Gelfand, a cultural psychologist, who states, "We must actively work to dismantle the structures that allow hate to flourish." A great place to shine a light on issues that are important but not discussed enough is through platforms that curate social justice perspectives. We've chosen some of the best posts below.

Hate speech on social media is often followed by hate crimes and violence. It can easily pave the way for the dehumanization and normalization of hatred.
As a result, we must learn from history and devote all of our efforts to eradicating hate speech from the online space. What makes this especially difficult is that we, as a society, have much to learn about calling out injustice and speaking up for the defenseless.
