It's scary when your intuition begins telling you that something is wrong with your surroundings. But for some odd reason, you can't explain what exactly is happening.

According to psychologists, intuition builds upon the ability to match patterns. The mind looks for experiences stored in a person's long-term memory to deliver in-the-moment judgment.

The other term for intuition is "gut feelings." They typically emerge from deep within us. The truth is that these are actually the result of the brain's processes that habitually compare the present experience with previous experience and knowledge.

They are presented to the awareness with a considerable amount of emotional certainty. It is part of the brain's necessity to determine what will happen next.

Intuition is typically correct. It is generally crucial to distinguish deception and different forms of danger.

The redditor was reading a book while her brother asked for more pancakes from their grandmother. At some point, she felt that her grandma was taking longer than the usual.

She checked what's up and found out that her grandma collapsed. The old lady tried to calm her granddaughter down.

But the redditor was seeing signs of stroke she read from The Baby Sitter's Club book series. Eventually and her brother called for help.

A redditor had a sudden wave of anxiety at 2 am.

Since she can't seem to quell the feeling, she phoned her dad, whom she knew was certainly awake. But he wasn't answering.

She convinced her partner to drive her to her dad's residence. Finally, she found out why she was feeling uneasy.

They immediately called for an ambulance. And according to the doctor, had she been late, she would probably be calling an undertaker.

One night, a woman was inside her car, waiting for her boyfriend.

A guy suddenly passes by and makes eye contact. That's when she started feeling uneasy.

The fear won't go away. So, she finally decided to move her car in front of a restaurant, where there are people.

She kept at it while the bad guy attempts to hit her with a rock. Eventually, he ran away.

She could hardly steer because of that scary situation. She thought that the guy was already sneaking up on her when she started the car's engine.

A girl was hanging out at the beach alone when suddenly a man passing by stared at her.

The guy circled around the girl, but she felt awkward so she didn't make eye contact. After an hour, the guy did the same thing, circling around her, staring at her and her things.

He asked the guy if he needed help, but he refused and walks away. That's when she started feeling anxious.

She approached another guy and asked him to accompany her to her car. The man obliged.

They finally reached her car. The kind stranger told her that the weird guy kept looking and following her and crept up on other women too.

A bouncer was sent to Walmart at midnight.

As he drove, he saw a ghostly figure on the side. He pulled over and it was actually a woman who looked like she was hyperventilating.

He told her to get in his truck, where she could calm down. Suddenly, a van pulled over behind him and a man got off it.

He grabbed the girl and began cussing at the bouncer. With his biggest voice, he refused and told the guy that the woman isn't leaving his truck.

The bouncer drove her to the hospital. Turns out, the woman isn't from his state.

She mentioned that she was drugged, raped, and beaten by men whom she met because of a friend. The woman escaped from these bad guys when they stopped for a gas refill.

The same bouncer previously drove girls to private shows. One of them decided to go to her own show and make money, without the need to tip him.

The guys refused to give the girl their address but did say they'd meet her at a closed gas station. En route to the location, the girl got nervous and called the bouncer who was already half asleep.

He tried talking the girl out of it. But she refused because she needed the money.

So I met her at the empty gas station. The whole scene made me nervous, especially because they weren't expecting me. And as**oles get stupid when spooked. We sat for 10 minutes while we waited. The whole time I tried to convince her to go home.3 vehicles rolled up with several guys in them. They were all drunk/f*cked up. She jumped out the car to be friendly. After feeling silly about her uneasiness, she decided to smoke. Just when she was about to light her cigarette, she saw something at the corner of her eye.

Her husband left the gas on. She did not dare smoke and proceeded to open the doors and windows.

Someone persistent knocked on the door, but she refused to open it. When he walked into the kitchen, she saw two faces checking the house out.

Some of them are already half inside. She grabbed a knife and called for the police.

The police told her to keep her calm and go to the bathroom where she could lock the door and be safe inside with the children. The police came with helicopters and dogs.

Sadly the bad guys did not get caught. We hope they didn't victimize other households in the neighborhood.

According to the redditor, a man who introduced himself as a production assistant to a movie studio, befriended him. He was doing what he called a "background research."

After some weeks, the man started paying him $10 per day. This was a lot of money in the '80s when it happened.

Eventually, the guy stopped seeing him. Apparently, his brother, who was 12 at the time, threatened the guy that he'll call the police if he didn't stop seeing him.

One day, this guy invited them for a trip to Montana, saying it'll be a spiritual experience. Of course, the redditor refused.

But her friend kept seeing the guy. Eventually, this man was beating her friend.

She broke it off with him and he would drive in circles around her apartment, calling her and leaving messages that he was going to kill her. She had to call the police and have him detained and move to another city overnight to get away from him.

To this day I know that guy was waiting for me to find my car so he could do something nefarious.I avoid parking garages at all costs now. She was on a trip with her cousin and her grandfather to the gas station. The grandfather left them buckled inside and the keys inside the truck.

Before their grandfather came in, an old man stopped their grandfather and pointed at them. The redditor started feeling uneasy at this point.

He stares at the two children intently and eventually got up and approached them. They started panicking.

After reaching the truck, he opens the driver's side. They start unbuckling in an attempt to run away.

But the old man reaches for the key and looks at them with an evil smile. The redditor got so scared, she thought it would be the end of it all.

But the old guy suddenly throws both of his hands up, telling the children he was just joking. He goes behind the gas station just as their grandfather goes outside.

On a busy market day, she got separated from her parents. She opted to stay where she is.

A pushy guy tried to persuade her into coming with him, saying they'll look for her parents. She did not listen even if the guy was being forceful.

Eventually, the parents found her. And the guy disappeared into the crowd.

She was supposed to come home on Monday, but her gut feeling compelled her to go home a day earlier. As she was sleeping, she woke up at 3 am to some weird noises.

She got up, thinking something isn't right. Then, she discovered that her apartment is burning.

A faulty electrical outlet caused the fire. She only had two choices to escape, her front door and backdoor.

With all her strength, she removed the headboard, broke the window, and screamed for help. The landlord, who was letting someone live illegally in a storage room, called for the fire station.

The firefighters got her out and put off the fire. She was left with nothing.

Thankfully, her neighbor allowed her to shower in their home. They gave her a set of clothes and let her stay as she waited for her parents.
