Mother Posts Photos Of Her Son Wearing A Prom Dress Which Encouraged Others To Celebrate Their Own Unique Children
One thing is certain about prom: you must look your absolute best.
Prom is the year's most spectacular social event! It is the one evening when high schoolers' dreams come true: the first dance with your crush, the stunning dresses and decorations, and the chance to feel special—or have it all go up in smoke.
Whatever happens, one thing is certain about prom: you must look your absolute best. And this young man, Korben, delivered!
When he was 12, he dreamed of wearing a dress to prom. His dream came true when he donned a stunning red gown that made everyone exclaim.
His beautiful smile and persona shone brighter than all the sequins combined. His classmates cheered him on, and his mother, Nina Green, shared the fabulous look in a now-viral tweet that received more than 127K likes.
Korben has been wearing dresses since he was four years old, and at the age of twelve, he dreamed of wearing a gown to prom. His dream came true four years later.
Korben told the media that it was crucial not only for his own self-expression but also to inspire others. "I didn't want to be anything other than myself at prom," he explained. Dr. Michael Thompson, a child psychologist, emphasizes the importance of self-expression in youth, stating, "Encouraging children to express themselves authentically fosters their confidence and emotional well-being" on his website michaelthompson-phd.com.
He believes that he should be able to express himself freely, and he had a great time and felt fantastic about it. He hoped that everyone else would feel comfortable and confident in what they were wearing, regardless of how the public perceived it.
