30 Talented Artists Create Incredible Studio Ghibli Crossover Fan Art

There is no shortage of fans and love for all that Studio Ghibli has created. Fans of all ages across the globe regularly enjoy the characters and stories crafted by the brilliant minds at Studio Ghibli.

Naturally, with any beloved fandom, there is always a diverse array of fan art. Artists of all skill levels regularly take time away from creating their own original content to enjoy the process of recreating their favorite characters.

While there are endless pieces of fan art inspired by Studio Ghibli works, we stumbled across a surprising genre of fan art. Particularly ingenious artists have taken a stab at creating crossover or mashup illustrations, combining Studio Ghibli characters or movie themes with other popular fandoms.

We collected fun and creative works from thirty different artists, blending the comforting whimsy and magic of Studio Ghibli with other shows or movies. There are crossovers and mashups with films like Big Hero 6, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and The Little Mermaid, along with shows like Adventure Time, I Love Lucy, and Futurama.

There are even works inspired by the mobile cat-collecting game Neko Atsume and the YouTube hit Nyan Cat. But that’s really just a very brief glimpse of the fun and extraordinary fan art we were able to collect and share.
