Talented Artist Creates Pop Culture Characters from DC, Marvel, and More in a Surprisingly Adorable Style
This Brazilian artist has an incredible sense of style when creating his fan art.
Felipe Kimio has a knack for turning familiar pop culture icons into something unexpectedly sweet. The Brazilian illustrator, who works as Associate Art Director at Wildlife in São Paulo, blends DC, Marvel, Disney, and gaming characters into a pin-up style that feels playful, cute, and a little bit cheeky.
His artwork has plenty of superhero energy, but it also leans into charm, which is part of why it stands out online. From commissioned pieces to personal favorites, Kimio keeps finding new ways to make fandom look adorable.
Some of these characters have never looked this fun before, and the last few pieces are especially hard to scroll past.

The artist says:
"Every now and then, I like to create 'fan arts' and imagine how some characters would be in certain situations. So I took Poison Ivy and thought about how she would be if she weren't a villainess, but a sweet country girl who came to town to start a business and sell some of her flowers.""Flowers are a recurring theme in my work, as I believe they add a nice feminine and soft touch to the girls I like to draw while I try to emphasize the beauty in the image."

That playful style is doing a lot of the heavy lifting here.

7. Wonder Woman
The artist says:
"She is part of a series of fan art illustrations I intend to develop over time. Heroines in various poses on a white background with some graphic elements. In this case, I decided to depict Wonder Woman, the most iconic of heroines, to start this little project of mine. The idea is to keep it simple, as if it's almost a poster or a card.""I like this kind of work; it's quite clean and pleasant to see."

10. Disney Girls - Pin Up Style
The artist says:
"It's a simple idea really: a classic portrait painting but with a very colorful and stylish reminiscence of Disney's movies, featuring a pin-up appeal where all the girls are in lingerie or something similar, but within a classical portrait depiction.""I've been developing it for months, from each individual girl to the layout sketches and painting. A few hours per week, and here is the result. It was quite laborious to paint; I tried to delve deep into the details as well as work well with volumes to give it a realistic yet charming render in the best way possible. I aimed to maintain the style of each girl's design while adding an extra personal touch."

He keeps the fandom references obvious, but the cute pin-up twist makes each one feel fresh.
And if you love pop culture “reimagined,” this is the kind of energy you’ll see in the Old Masters paintings that act like original influencers.
