Taylor Swift-Inspired Corn Mazes In Ohio And Maryland Are Going Viral
Taylor Swift is all the craze right now; even corn mazes are inspired by her.
Taylor Swift fans are about to get the most unexpected kind of tribute, a corn maze. Not a poster, not a playlist, but a literal 16-acre maze in Ohio that’s been cut to look like the pop star herself.
It gets even better because this isn’t some random one-off stunt. Duke Wheeler, the owner of Wheeler Farms in Whitehouse, Ohio, runs the place that normally sells Christmas trees. When winter work slows down, his team starts building mazes, and this year they decided to dedicate the paths to whoever was dominating the year, and yep, that was Swift.
And once people spotted it, Wheeler said next year is going to be “unbelievable.”
This corn maze is a true showcase of someone’s talent with how detailed and interesting it is.
Duke Wheeler, manager and owner of Wheeler Farms, which is located in Whitehouse, Ohio, has been in the corn maze business for twenty years. This farm, in particular, is usually a Christmas tree farm, but the staff started creating mazes to fill the time leading up to winter.
"You work hard in the winter, [and then] you don't have much work. So we got into a facility called the ‘Butterfly House,’ where we import butterflies from all over the world, and then from there, we got a cornfield that's 16 acres, and we started having mazes," Wheeler said.
Wheeler FarmsWe don’t blame them for tributing TS this year because she deserves it.
The Wheeler Farm will dedicate their corn mazes to whoever is popular during that year, and this year, Taylor Swift made the cut. Wheeler actually got advice from his daughter and grandchildren to draw Taylor Swift.
“She’s real special,” Wheeler said.
“We had an artist draw up [the design] first, and then we used GPS coordinates to try to create the paths in the pictures, and that's it. We cut the corn. We've cut the plants a couple of times in the last two months so that it's not too high. You know, people like walking in cornstalks."

I know this probably got him a lot of attention after people noticed it.
He said that because of the heightened interest, he would be amping it up a notch next year and make sure that it’s “unbelievable.”

Wheeler Farms usually switches gears to Christmas tree season, so turning a “Butterfly House” stop into a Swift-themed corn maze is a wild pivot.
Duke Wheeler didn’t just wing it, he got design help from his daughter and grandchildren before the team used GPS coordinates to map the paths.
As Taylor Swift captures the public's imagination with her music and personal life, Swift's ability to connect with fans through relatable storytelling illustrates how music can become a vehicle for social commentary and personal expression. Leveraging Fandom for Community Engagement
Marketing expert Rachel Hollis highlights how fan engagement strategies can be enhanced through experiential marketing. Swift's corn mazes serve as an excellent example of how brands can leverage cultural moments to connect with consumers on a personal level. Hollis suggests that businesses can replicate this success by hosting themed events or promotions that resonate with their audience's interests.
Incorporating elements of pop culture into marketing strategies not only fosters community but also drives brand loyalty, as fans feel a deeper connection to the brand.
This is another Taylor Swift corn maze and this one is on the East Coast.
In Maryland, Carol Paul, owner of Maryland Corn Maze, was also inspired by Taylor Swift for their maze design. It was her son’s friend who proposed the idea of using Taylor Swift in the design.
"I was really worried at first… [my daughter-in-law] said, 'She's the most wholesome thing out there,' so I started following it, and I was like, 'I think it's true. There's nothing bad out there about her.'”

Then the crew cut the corn multiple times over the last two months so visitors would actually be able to walk through the maze, not wrestle it.
After the public went nuts for the Taylor Swift tribute, Wheeler admitted he’ll “amp it up a notch” next year because the attention changed everything.
The Maryland Corn Maze is actually a full-scale festival. For one night, a singer named Kanin Wren will come out and perform the artist’s top hits. Carol Paul has designed many corn mazes over the years, including a Harry Potter one.
These corn mazes are so interesting, and it’s always fun to see what kind of designs can be used to create corn mazes. We can’t wait to see what they do next year because they definitely stole the show this year.
The rise of Taylor Swift-inspired corn mazes showcases the power of cultural phenomena in shaping community experiences.
Next year, those cornstalks are probably going to need their own PR team.
