The Simpsons’ Next Disney Park Spoof Looks a Lot Like Galactic Starcruiser, and Jenny Nicholson Is Involved

The Simpsons’ Nov. 8 episode appears to parody Disney’s Galactic Starcruiser, with guest voice Jenny Nicholson joining the cast.

Disney’s closed Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser appears to be getting the Simpsons treatment. A new episode airing Sunday, November 8 on FOX points squarely at the short-lived Walt Disney World experience, and it comes with a guest voice that theme park fans will recognize immediately.

The episode is titled “The Kosmic Kruiser.” Its setup sends Bart and Lisa into one of Krustyland’s infamous failures, where they find the place is not quite as deserted as it seems. Episode materials point to a spaceship-themed immersive venue that strongly echoes Galactic Starcruiser, Disney’s former Star Wars hotel experience.

One detail making the parody especially hard to miss is the reported guest appearance by Jenny Nicholson. In the clip below, her connection to this story is clear: Nicholson released a four-hour video about her own Galactic Starcruiser trip titled “The Spectacular Failure of the Star Wars Hotel.” That video drew millions of views almost immediately and has now passed 17 million views.

Why Disney fans will spot the reference fast

Galactic Starcruiser opened at Walt Disney World on March 1, 2022. Rather than functioning like a standard resort stay, it was built as an immersive Star Wars story, with guests taking part in plotlines involving the Resistance or the First Order, interacting with characters, training with lightsabers, watching live performances, using the Play Disney Parks app, and visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The concept earned a 2022 Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement in Brand Experience, but the hotel’s run was short. It also became known for its high price, reaching nearly $5,000 per cabin, and Disney permanently closed it on September 30, 2023, less than two years after it opened.

That history is what makes this episode notable for Disney and Simpsons audiences alike. The corporate owner of The Simpsons is now Disney, yet the series appears ready to turn one of Disney World’s most talked-about recent experiments into a Krustyland joke. For viewers, the change is simple: on November 8, “The Kosmic Kruiser” brings that parody to FOX, with Bart, Lisa, and Nicholson all tied to the send-up.
