Citizens of the World Are Sending Powerful Messages of Resistance Against the Russian Invasion of Ukraine
The people of Ukraine need all the hope they can get from around the world.
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine turned ordinary people into witnesses, targets, and symbols almost overnight. As missiles fell and families fled, the internet filled with photos of defiance, sarcasm, and solidarity from Ukrainians and supporters around the world.
Some of the messages are blunt, some are funny, and some are surprisingly creative, but they all point to the same thing: people want to push back in whatever way they can. From improvised signs to public protests, the resistance keeps showing up in small but memorable ways.
Here are some of the most powerful messages people have shared so far.

It’s so great to see people from all over the world showing their support and backing the people of Ukraine in their struggle against the Russian invaders. These people’s lives have changed so drastically in such a short period; they never had a say in any of it, but they ended up finding themselves right in the middle of it.
Politicians don't suffer directly from the consequences of their actions; however, you, I, and other regular citizens are the ones who pay the price. It’s sadly the way things have always been, and I don’t see it changing in the near future.
That kind of solidarity is hard to ignore.
