Woman Gets Scolded By Delivery Driver Because She Ordered Food From A Nearby Restaurant
This DoorDash driver complains about a delivery that is "too close."
One Reddit user thought she was making a simple dinner order, but the delivery driver had other ideas. Instead of dropping off the food and moving on, he scolded her for living too close to the restaurant.
The woman said she ordered from a nearby spot through a delivery app, only to be told the trip was not worth it. That left her wondering whether she had done something wrong by placing the order in the first place, even though she was well within the delivery area.
Now the internet is weighing in on a very strange complaint, and the reactions are not subtle.
Here's her story about what happened.
puddlespuddled The delivery driver didn't react at all in the way she'd anticipated, so she's wondering if she's wrong or if the delivery driver is wrong.

puddlespuddledThat short trip was apparently enough to spark a big reaction.
Right off the bat, people started saying she was NTA.

Reddit comments came flooding in with great points.
This is a great point because you'd think she'd be happy about the shorter delivery.

Clearly, people are on the customer's side about this.

OP responded to this comment, and she made a valid point. Is it an unspoken rule?
This is similar to the OP refusing to split a restaurant bill evenly after ordering cheaper items.
She definitely should have been happy about the short delivery, but she clearly didn't understand.

It seems that OP isn't too upset by the delivery person's actions, just a little confused.
Again, people aren't understanding why the delivery driver was upset about this.

As long as you're within the delivery area, you can order delivery.

Quick deliveries are a delivery driver's best friend.
Reddit is coming in hot about this delivery driver.

Again, NTA because you're allowed to get delivery for whatever reason you want.

This might also be best for her; who knows?
All in all, it seems that Reddit agrees with the OP, and they think it's odd that the delivery driver was so upset over a close delivery. People with past driving experience say they would have loved this short delivery.
What do you think about her experience with the delivery driver? It definitely wasn't expected.
Some drivers would have called that an easy win.
Wait till you see how splitting dinner bills unevenly sparked a fight with an extra-ordering friend, in this AITA about an uneven dinner bill.
