20 Tweets From Parents That Show What Raising Kids Is Really Like
If anything, life will never be dull again.
Raising children is no small task, and it’s definitely not for the faint of heart. While parenting may be one of the hardest things humans do, it is also incredibly rewarding.
I’m not sure that raising kids ever gets any easier. Still, it evolves over time and can be very different for each child.
That’s why I lean into the common saying, “it doesn't get easier; it just gets different.” Each stage of life brings its own specific changes and challenges.
The newborn stage is rife with sleepless nights, soiled diapers, and teething pain, but eventually, they start sleeping for longer stretches, and that little bit of extra sleep makes a huge difference. Then they become mobile, more expressive, and better able to communicate, which coincides with tantrums and a fierce desire for independence that you didn’t realize was a thing before the teenage years.
Rinse and repeat. It’s as if once you feel like you have everything figured out for your child, they grow into a new developmental stage, and you’re back to square one.
At least our children are (usually) adorable, and they have moments of genuine hilarity as they figure out the world around them, not to mention the pure joy that is shared when they accomplish something for the first time—like their first words, first steps, or first drawing.
It’s a chaotic balance that parents love to hate and hate to love. Thankfully, we now have the internet to share our struggles, successes, and everything in between.
We collected some very funny tweets from parents about their own personal parenting experiences to share a relatable laugh. So, take a break from your own kiddos, and keep scrolling for a laugh at someone else’s children for a change.
