Texting has become the primary form of communication these days. Most people prefer using a messaging app to a phone call.

There’s the ease of being able to drop your thoughts as you have them, knowing the recipient will get back to you whenever they’re available. It’s a sort of instant gratification, as you don’t have to call to find out whether or not they are free to talk and risk losing the thoughts you wanted to share.

Not to mention, for those with phone anxiety, making phone calls can be a really big deal for some people, sometimes to the point that it just never happens. Bless the internet gods for online scheduling and chat features.

Unfortunately, with texting, we lose a lot of communication that we get from face-to-face conversations or even just phone calls. We aren’t able to see the other person's body language or hear the tone of their voice.

That can leave a lot of room for interpretation, and if we’re feeling a particular way, that can influence how we receive a message. Texting can get complicated, y’all.

We’ve seen countless lists of hysterical texting fails where autocorrect tried to be helpful but missed the mark. However, we haven’t seen much in the way of just straight-up embarrassing texts because they are inherently embarrassing.
