Anyone who has ever worked in retail knows just how terrible it is to work in this field. Between managers and coworkers who outright suck, and customers who almost always suck way more, it’s a thankless job that will never pay enough for all the bullsh*t we’re expected to deal with.

Allow me to break it down further: Management sucks because they’re typically responsible for scheduling and somehow think that scheduling an opening shift the day after a closing shift is reasonable. They will almost always side with a customer who acts less like a person and more like a loose collection of personality flaws.

Coworkers can be frustrating depending on whether they actually do work or create more work for you, like those who constantly call out and leave you solo for your shift, or cause management to call you on your day off to pick up the slack. But sometimes, there’s that special coworker who makes every shift worthwhile.
