Couple Gets Shocked When Airbnb Messages Them To Get Out Of Their Rental ASAP Without Telling The Host
Airbnb wouldn't have acted so swiftly and urgently if the matter hadn't been serious.
Airbnb stays can look perfect on social media, but one couple learned how fast a rental can turn strange. What started as a normal trip for TikToker _spookytooth and her boyfriend quickly turned into a scramble to leave after just one night.
The pair said Airbnb messaged them to check out ASAP, while the host told them to ignore the company and stay put.
Here’s how the situation unfolded, and why so many people online thought the couple made the safest call.
It all started out fine
TikTok user _spookytooth, or Carol, usually posts makeup and tattoo-related videos on her account, as she is the manager of a tattoo shop. Recently, however, she shared her Airbnb experience while on vacation in the Philly area, which has sparked considerable discussion.
It all began when she and her boyfriend rented "a room in a large home where the host also lived and was present the entire time" through Airbnb. Shortly after checking in, however, Airbnb began messaging them to leave immediately.

Airbnb kept sending them messages overnight
The couple checked in during the evening, and later that night, Airbnb continued sending them messages urging them to check out of the place ASAP. Airbnb also called them the following morning, but they slept through it all.
When they finally woke up and saw all the missed calls and messages from Airbnb, the couple started to panic. Strangely enough, they also received messages from their host telling them to ignore any communications from Airbnb.

Airbnb also wouldn't specify what they were told or what the violations were, but in the end, the couple did receive a generous exchange for the experience

Many people also think that the host's messages were shady and failed to provide a proper explanation. Here are some of the top comments.
It also reminds us of the parents who wanted to turn their kid’s college dorm into an Airbnb for profit.

While there are many great aspects of Airbnbs, there are also numerous cons that you must consider if you choose to stay in them. You always have to be prepared to think on your feet if anything happens.
Fortunately for this couple, although they weren't able to follow Airbnb's orders immediately, they still acted quickly and managed to extricate themselves from a potentially dangerous situation.
A strange stay can turn into a full-blown headache fast.
