Mother Finds Apple AirTag On Her Daughter's Jacket And It Was Planted By Her Ex

"Is this something a normal person would do?"

A 28-year-old mom thought she was just dealing with a weird tech notification, then she found an Apple AirTag tucked on her daughter’s pink jacket. The moment she pulled it off, the TikToker immediately clocked the bigger issue, why was it even there in the first place? The complication? It wasn’t random, it was reportedly placed by her daughter’s father, her ex, and he later claimed he was “collecting addresses” for places she took their kid.

Now the internet can’t stop asking one thing: if he meant well, why hide the tracker like it was a secret?

This drama with the ex planting an AirTag is similar to a parent dressing their kid in thrift store clothes against the ex-wife’s wishes.

In another video, the TikToker updated her audience after she confronted her ex about the situation.

"He said that he was collecting addresses that I take my daughter to," she says in the video.

When the mom held up the AirTag and asked if it was normal, everyone watching had the same question, normal or not, why was it on her daughter’s jacket at all?

After she confronted her ex and he said he was “collecting addresses” for where she took their daughter, the story stopped sounding like simple “safety” and started sounding like surveillance.

The comments went from “I’d put one on my kid” to “No, this isn’t normal” the second the AirTag planting was linked to the ex’s behavior.

Now the mom is left wondering whether the AirTag was meant to protect their child or to control where she goes, because he never mentioned any of it until she found it first.

What's your take on this situation? Do you think the OP should be concerned that her ex would want to track her daughter, or is her ex just being a protective father?

Whatever the motive may be, it does seem a little suspicious that he would hide the device. Why not mention it to his daughter's mother if his intentions are innocent?

We would love to hear your opinions on this. You can share your thoughts with us in the comment section.

The AirTag might be small, but the motive behind it feels huge.
