Hello, all. I've always been the kid my parents expect a lot from but give little to.
For example, I'm applying for med school. I chose the cheapest college and work part-time at a heart doctor's office.
My parents haven't once said they're proud of me. My older sister, though, went to pricey schools and they showered her with gifts at every step.
I got nothing, not even a pat on the back. We're not poor, but I try hard not to cost my parents extra money.
The problem? They make me care for our dog and my sister's kid all day.
I don't get time for myself. Got plans?

Nope, my sister needs me to do her laundry. If I say no, it becomes a problem.
The last straw was them not letting me study for a big exam. I had to keep looking after the dog, serving them and their friends, and helping my pregnant sister, who has a husband.
