I (27M) recently bought the latest gaming console after saving up for months. I've been enjoying playing new releases and spending time unwinding after work.

Enter my friend, Ryan. He's been over a few times and every time he's here, he makes snide comments about my gameplay.

He criticizes my strategy, my choice of games, and even my reaction times. It's really starting to ruin the fun for me.

Last night, Ryan asked if he could come over to try out the console. I felt hesitant given his behavior but reluctantly agreed.

As we started playing, the comments began again. He was constantly pointing out my mistakes, mocking my progress, and generally being a sore loser whenever I won.

Fed up, I told him that since he can't respect my gaming style, he wasn't welcome to use my console anymore. Ryan got offended, saying I was being selfish and overreacting.

I don't think it's fair for him to criticize my hobby in my own home. So, AITA for not sharing my new gaming console with Ryan?
