50 Bizarre Buildings That Look Interesting But Are Probably Uncomfortable To Live In
Form over function is something to gawk at.
Architects are creative people, and they sometimes tend to go wild. You're not the only one who thinks some architects live in their own fantasy world.
Their structures can range from majestic to enchanting, and their flying buttresses, austere columns, angelic balconies, and terrifying facades are guaranteed to attract your attention. However, you might get the impression that some of these artistic trailblazers haven't properly considered certain factors, such as the fact that people have to live and work in the structures they construct.
There is a joke that architects and engineers are archenemies because engineers have to calculate and develop construction plans for architects' extravaganzas.
And by the looks of some modern buildings, that joke is based on truth. It is hard to believe that engineers are laughing at it.
A subreddit called 'Bizarre Buildings' is a place where people can share photos of such buildings, discuss them, and even get inspiration. It's a great place for people who think creativity can also be expressed through brick and mortar, iron and wood.
We have chosen 50 of the "masterpieces" that are incredibly interesting but probably a nightmare to construct, use, or live in. Take a look; you will see what we mean:

Ancient Roman writer Vitruvius said that buildings should balance commodity (the suitability of the building in relation to the needs), firmness (structural integrity), and delight (the aesthetics of the building and its relationship to the site and context). Most architects also believe that, but it's hard to create such a balance when you have a really, really good idea.
Don't you think?
