Wife Dumps Her Abusive Husband's Ashes In Trash Bin As Payback For The Torture She Endured
"Adios, amigo!"
Women stay in abusive relationships for many reasons. However, most often, it’s the children that keep them from leaving. They endure a great deal to provide a family life for their kids, even though the children are fully aware of what’s happening and would be much happier living alone with their mom, away from the abusive father.
Marsha Widener was one of those women. She was married to a violent man who was not only abusive to her but also to their children, as well as to his parents and brother. After his death, she decided to get back at him by publicly throwing his ashes in the garbage bin.
Marsha's husband, Don, worked as a garbage truck driver, collecting trash from companies to take to the regional landfill. She thought it would be poetic justice to throw his ashes into the garbage so they would eventually end up in the same place.
Marsha WidenerIn the video she posted to YouTube, Marsha holds the bag containing Don’s ashes, explaining, “I know you’re not going to understand why I’m doing this. … His family doesn’t want him, his brother doesn’t want him around, and his kids don’t want him—in fact, they want him to go in the gutter or the toilet.”

“This is for all the pain and turmoil he has caused my children and me, as well as what he calls his parents. This is his goodbye,” Marsha says as she begins emptying Don’s ashes into the trash. “This is for all the times he kicked me in the head—yes, he put my head through a window.”

She spills some ashes on the ground during the process and then stomps on them, stating that this is what he deserves. She continues pouring the ashes into the garbage bin and finally empties the plastic bag. “Adios, amigo!” were the last words she said to her husband.

We can’t say whether this symbolic gesture provided Marsha with the closure she needed or if it was sufficient payback for all those years of suffering and torment. However, we can hope that she will be able to start a new life with the support of her children and friends.
